Written and produced between late 2019 and early 2022, "If Then Maybe, Perhaps" represents a transitory, liminal time period in electronic musician ALU's early college life. As a worldwide pandemic ground in-person activity to a halt, ALU turned to virtual spaces in an attempt to recover what could have been. "If Then Maybe, Perhaps" derives itself from a world that satiates itself with hypotheticals, represents a blurring between the real and the imagined, and takes its sonic palette from these worlds.
